Adult & Junior Club Nights and Beginner Coaching starting with immediate effect.

We are delighted to announce, with immediate effect, the tennis formats detailed below are now allowed under the latest Ulster Tennis update of Covid19 guidelines.

However, to ensure the safety of all members and our wider community, the club and Ulster Tennis require all members to obverse the protocols as laid out by Ulster Tennis (copy attached) and as summarised at the end of this email.

The key changes to play are outlined here with key specific details explained below

  • ADULT CLUB NIGHTS with restrictions will resume from Tuesday 27th April (Subject to booking as explained below) with Thursday to be added from 6th May
  • JUNIOR FRIDAY NIGHTS to resume from Friday 30th April (subject to booking as explained below)
  • FREE BEGINNER GROUP COACHING - First lesson @ 7pm on Tuesday 27th April
  • VISITORS can now play
  • Certain Competition Formats - NEW DOUBLES LEAGUE to commence at start of May (separate email to follow)

Court Booking & GPS Check-in

Crucial to the Ulster tennis guidelines are the traceability elements included within our online booking facility (https://eltc.mycourts.co.uk/bookings.asp ) including naming of all players for a court booking and confirmation that match was played using our GPS Check in option, also within the court booking system.

Further Details

Restricted Adult Club Nights

  • If you wish to participate please let John know by email or text
  • John will inform players in advance of club night that they are selected for that weeks club night to ensure compliance with continuing Covid guidelines.
  • Only players with confirmation from John can attend that weeks club night
  • Play will be from 8pm until 10pm
  • No refreshments can be served during club night

Junior Friday Nights

  • Restarting 30th April with same times and formats as previous
  • £35 for 9 week block booking
  • Contact Brenda (07847053433) to book a place
  • Parents not to congregate in car park during sessions

Free Beginner Tennis Coaching Group

  • Open to non members of the club who are considering taking up tennis
  • First of 4 sessions starting Tuesday 27th April 7pm-745pm
  • If you know of anyone interested in this wonderful coaching opportunity then let them know
  • To book your place simply phone or message Matthew 07877 839545
  • Racquets can be provided.

Visitors allowed to play

  • Visitors can only play with a member of the club and that member will be responsible for the visitor
  • The responsible member must select “Visitor” as opponent on the court booking system when booking a court for their match
  • Before their match the responsible member must inform club coach Matthew McGann (by text or email) of the name, address and contact details of the visitor
  • The responsible member will make the visitor aware of all Covid-19 protocols in place at the club
  • Visitor fees are £5 per visitor per match and should be left with Matthew if available or in an envelope in the outside post box (Including visitor name)
  • Visitors are restricted to playing at the club a maximum of 3 times per annum


Summary of the latest Ulster Tennis Return to Play Guidelines as at 23rd April as they apply at Enniskillen Tennis Club

1. Club Covid Committee

  • Covid-19 Officer : Maxine Leary
  • Covid Emergency Committee : Maxine Leary, John Griffin, Evelyn Cousins, Ruth Elliott, Matthew McGann and Mark Cousins
  • The Committee must ensure that the club and its members and visitors adhere to NHS / Public Health advice in all cases.

2. Court Access – to access the courts a player must

  • Be a current member or a visitor playing with a current member
  • Have a pre-reserved playing time.
  • A parent/guardian should accompany any player under 16 years and if not playing the adult must stay in car or car park for the duration of the junior’s session.
  • Not have been around someone with symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days
  • Not be in a period of self-isolation and/or cocooning under the current Health Policy Rules
  • Not be displaying COVID-19 symptoms

3. Booking and Arrival

  • Book your court in advance via our court booking system – essential part of contact tracing requirements
  • All players, and not just the player making the booking, should be included in the booking .
  • Factor into your booking times the requirement to vacate the court 10 minutes before the end of your session.
  • Bring your own water and sanitizer.
  • If your session is cancelled it is imperative that you cancel your online booking.
  • Don’t forget to bring your phone to check in when you get to court.
  • Players should travel to the club alone, or only with a member of the same household
  • Players should ensure that they utilise toilet facilities in their own home prior to arriving at the club.

4. Check-in

  • Check-in on your phone prior to starting your match
  • Remain in the carpark until your court is free to enter.
  • Enter via the designated gates. The gates will be propped slightly open to avoid the need to touch them.
  • Players should observe social distancing at all times and resist the temptation to mingle
  • Players should sanitise their hands using dispensers provided at the entrance to the club and court

5. Clubhouse Access

  • The clubhouse is strictly out of bounds with the only exceptions being
    • access to the defibrillator and the First Aid kit
    • use of the toilets in an emergency
    • access to light switches
  • Toilets can be utilised during Level 2 but on a one in / one out basis.
  • Changing rooms and showers facilities will remain closed during this phase of reopening

6. To the Court

  • Players should enter the court one at a time
  • Parents supervising children should be mindful of social distancing.

7. On the Court – Playing

  • Physical distancing should be observed throughout the period of play, particularly on change of ends and entering and exiting the court.
  • Players should change ends at opposite sides of the net.
  • Players must refrain from handshakes and high fives
  • Equipment such as towels, food, and drink must not be exchanged between players.
  • Players should ideally bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer with them and keep it in their pocket or bag for use.

8. On the Court – Coaching

  • Coaching sessions must be booked with the participant’s contact details recorded by the Matthew and Louise.
  • Coaching will only be provided to club members
  • Matthew and Louise will brief their students and/or their parents of the protocols that should be followed in advance of the session and they will ensure that all coaching protocols are in line with the Level 2 protocols

9. Getting Home Safely

  • Once play has finished players should leave the premises promptly, sanitising their hands on the way out using a courtside dispenser
  • If a player becomes unwell after playing, they should first contact their GP/NHS and then inform their club. The club should contact the NHS and follow the advice provided to them on the next steps
